Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Heb. 11:1
There are days when we can clearly recognize God’s presence in our lives. But there are other days when seeing God’s presence is like driving through fog. It’s during those foggy stretches of life’s path that it’s easy to lose direction or to even believe that there is a road ahead. But just because the road is hidden doesn’t mean it isn’t there. The fog only changes our visibility of what lies ahead. Driving in the fog makes us slow down a bit, focus our vision, and peer with a little more attentiveness, looking for the next landmark that assures us we’re heading in the right direction. Faith is like squinting through the fogs of life. God uses those moments to cause us to slow down and look more intently for Him. Even though it might be hard to see God in the fog, His promises and trustworthiness are still there.
