With only 2 weeks left until Christmas, I hope everybody getting into the spirit. With so much going on this time of year it’s easy to become exhausted by all of the activity that Christmas brings.
The birth of Jesus must have been almost overwhelming for Mary. The journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem; the “rustic” accommodation; the pains of labor; delivering a baby…. Any of it would have been enough to wear any woman out. To top it all off, a bunch of excited sheep herders show up. So much for any rest or privacy. Mary’s life was filled with the noisiness of activity and people. Yet Mary found a quiet place in her heart to store up all these things and consider God’s presence in her life. Don’t let the busyness of the season overwhelm or exhaust you. Don’t let the noise drown out God’s still and quiet voice. Take time to store up holy moments of God’s presence in your heart.
Even though you may not understand all that He is doing in your life, be assured that He has a plan for you and is with you, even in the midst of your busy life.
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19
