I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and a safe & enjoyable New Year celebration. We’re already 2 days into 2013 so that means there are only 363 days left this year and if it’s anything like last year, it’ll be over before we know it. When we think of how fast the time seems to pass it raises some important questions: How will we use the days the rest of this year? Will we use them glorifying the Lord or living for ourselves? What will we accomplish? Will we be wise in our time management? The Apostle Paul wrote in Eph. 5:15-16
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
It’s important to remember that we all have a limited time here on earth. Somebody once said that “Life is only a temporary assignment.“
Research shows that the average life span in North America is 70 years. That’s 25,550 days. I calculate that I’ve already used 20,383 of my days. That gives me only 5,167 left if I live to the average age. You might have more days left than me or you might have fewer. In any case, it’s a good reminder to live each day to the fullest and invest in the things that really matter.
None of us are given the days we have simply so we can take up space. God has a plan and place for each of us to glorify Him through the days that He gives. Let’s make the most of each one.
