The Apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 1:28-29:
“He (Jesus) is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.”
Paul encouraged the church to pursue the things that help each other grow in their faith relationship with Christ. This meant a concentrated effort that took time and energy. It meant making the necessary sacrifices of his own personal freedoms and comforts for the sake of others.
This is what it means to “love one another.” To help each other grow is not a casual matter, and it takes the strength and resources that God provides. As Christians, the strengthening of each others faith needs to be seen as a priority. This week, is there someone you know that needs to be encouraged or strengthened in their walk with Jesus?
