Dec. 16, 2015
This is a busy time of year.
Two thousand years ago people in the Roman Empire were also busy. Many were traveling to their family’s hometown to be registered in compliance with a government census.
When a young couple expecting their first child showed up in a small town with limited hotel space, they found that all the rooms were completely filled. In those days there was no Expedia to book a room ahead of time, and so the couple had to find shelter in a stable, where their baby was born.
Whether you’re travelling for Christmas or just busy making preparations for the celebration with family and friends, let me encourage you not to forget the most important preparation of all. Don’t forget to reserve room in your heart for Jesus.
